Cancellation Policy

This page explains how Artwell currently handles free-trial expiration, paid subscription cancellation, and post-access read-only behavior.

Last updated:

Free trial policy

Artwell's default free trial is 14 days. Starting a trial does not require a credit card, and Artwell does not automatically convert the trial into a paid subscription at the end of the trial period.

The trial begins only after you explicitly consent and your first real transcription-start action succeeds. If the first upload or remote URL submission fails, the trial does not start.

When the trial ends, the account moves to read-only access unless you subscribe.

After access ends

After a trial or paid subscription ends, Artwell aims to keep sign-in available while the account is in a retained read-only state. During that period:

  • new uploads, edits, and compute-heavy generation remain blocked
  • billing and account-management surfaces remain available
  • transcript-derived export remains available while transcript data is still retained
  • source-media re-download remains available only while retained media is still within its retention window

Exact retention windows are listed in the Retention Policy.

Archive and future options

Artwell may offer lower-cost archive or pause options in the future. If and when such an option is available, it will be presented explicitly at cancellation or in subscription management. Unless and until you accept a specific archive or custom retention option, the default retention windows in the retention policy apply.
