Questions before you upload
Which export format should I choose?
Use DOCX for a document you want to edit, PDF for a readable copy, or TXT for plain text. SRT and VTT provide timed captions for tools that support those formats.
How long are my recording and transcript kept?
Your source recording is scheduled for deletion 72 hours after the transcript completes. Your transcript text and metadata stay in your account until you delete them or your account.
Different source windows apply to abandoned uploads and failed jobs. Read the Quick Transcript retention policy for those details and account-deletion rules.
Should I review the transcript before sharing it?
Yes. Check names, specialist terms, speaker labels, and important quotations against your recording. Transcription can make mistakes, especially when people overlap or the audio is unclear.
